  8th Annual ACE Fall Fundraiser

The 8th Annual (GPSGA)/The First Tee of Philadelphia Golf Tournament, was held on August 17, 2010 and hosted at the beautiful ACE club. The full field of 26 teams enjoyed beautiful weather as well as excellent course conditions. TFT Philadelphia thanks everyone who supported the event and especially our Platinum Sponsor: Guy Carpenter Company.

  7th Annual Spring Fundraiser at Walnut Lane

This year’s tournament took place on Tuesday, June 15th at Walnut Lane Golf Club, 700A Walnut Lane in Philadelphia, PA. The event raised $32,000 for the program. Thank you to all who contributed.

On Thursday April 8th, 2010 - The First Tee of Philadelphia commemorated their sixth year anniversary at FDR Golf Club with a visit from First Philadelphia Charter School, one of the feature Philadelphia charter schools in The First Tee National Schools Program.

  Summer Camp is a Success at TFT Walnut Lane
The First Tee Philadelphia at Walnut Lane held two Junior Camps in July.
  Area Youth Set Golf-A-Thon Record at Walnut L
On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Walnut Lane G.C. was the host of a Golf-A-Thon to raise money for The First Tee Philadelphia Learning Center. This 9 hour and 10 minute event raised $7450 and counting in pledges and donations for the new First Tee facility, which is to be built this summer.

  TFT Philadelphia Wins Shootout in Naples FL
The ACE Classic, a Champions Tour was event held on February 20 to 22 at TPC Treviso Bay in Naples FL. Two of our TFT Philadelphia participants, Louis Kelly and Danny Gentilucci along with family members were flown down for the event.

  2008 Annual Holiday Putting contest
On Saturday December 6, we conducted the 5th Annual Holiday Putting contest at FDR Golf Course. The event was attended by 75-100 youth as well as their parents.
  Lookaway Golf Club Fundraiser
On October 1, 2008 the scene was the Lookaway Golf Club located in Buckingham, PA and the occasion was a golf tournament/fundraiser for the Greater Philadelphia Scholastic Golf Association (GPSGA) The First Tee Philadelphia (TFT/P) youth golf program.
  Middle Atlantic Blind Golfers at Walnut Lane
Middle Atlantic Blind Golf Association brought together volunteers, coaches and parents for blind or visually impaired children to play at The First Tee of Philadelphia's Walnut Lane Golf Club site.

  TFT Phila Goes to Overbrook School for Blind
TFT representatives, John MacDonald, Jack Hubbert, Greg Gaul, Jeff Middleton and Brian Clobes served as coaches (one on one) for kids playing the OSB golf course. The clinic lasted about 3 hours.  Jeff Middleton gave a talk to the kids and parents at lunch regarding the availability of the TFT program to visually impaired kids.

  Joe Louis Barrow, Jr. Visits TFT Phila.
They call him the “Chief Evangelist of The First Tee.” That embodies the essence of who Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., Executive Director TFT and Senior Vice President of the World Golf Federation and son of the “Brown Bomber” who fought for African American golfers, boxers, and soldiers alike, truly is.

Each Labor Day weekend, The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach showcases the talent and character of young people who participate at The First Tee facilities worldwide. 
Future Leaders Forum

Each year, The First Tee home office invites 50 participants to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida to attend the Future Leaders Forum. For three days, the future leaders attend hands-on, interactive sessions in customer service, PGA TOUR tournament management, agronomy, researching colleges, and educational requirements for chosen career fields.

RBS Achievers of Year


The First Tee and The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have partnered to create the RBS Achievers of the Year Award, recognizing outstanding participants for succeeding in school and their daily lives as a result of their experience with The First Tee.
The First Tee Life Skills Academies

Every summer, selected participants of The First Tee attend the Life Skills & Leadership Academy, where they play championship golf, participate in life skills activities and career exploration, experience dorm living and meet a wide variety of young people from across the country.
